Sitting in the Mayfair Conservation Area, Berkeley Street is an example of how the land was transformed as the 17th century progressed into streets of fine houses. Many of these mansion style houses still exist but have long since been converted into mixed use real estate with the ground floor occupied by leisure and retail and the upper floors as offices. 15 Berkeley is no different in this sense and sits amongst the bustle of the streetscape, but it is distinct when you consider its history as part of the Empress Club. We have chosen to rename this building “Ada” to honour the Empress Club’s longest standing employee. Its unique character is more keenly felt in the offices which have been refurbished for today’s office occupier with balconies galore and topped with a roof garden. Art provided by Artbox.
